Model Parenting Plans
In your efforts to develop a parenting plan, you do not have to "re-invent the wheel".  A number of model parenting plans have been developed.  A few examples are offered here for your guidance. I wish to acknowledge Madeline Mindek, LCSW and Matthew Sullivan, Ph.D. for sharing these model plans. Please note that such models tend to be quite thorough and that some of the suggested items may not apply to your family or be necessary for you. Use them as guides.

Collaborative Divorce, an alternative process
Collaborative Practice, including Collaborative Law and Interdisciplinary Collaborative Divorce, is a new way for parents to resolve disputes respectfully -- without going to court -- while working with a team of trained professionals who are important to all areas of your life, including child and financial specialists, divorce coaches and other professionals all working together to help you negotiate a dissolution and shared parenting agreement.

The International Academy of Collaborative Professionals provides an informative website, as does Collaborative Alternatives, which is provided by Bauer, Shepherd and Ross, a highly recommended bay area counseling center specializing in collaborative services.

Bibliography for Divorcing Families
You may find some of these books helpful, for you and your children, as you go through the process of  dissolving your marriage or partnership and establishing separate lives.  This bibliography was compiled by Collaborative Opportunities.
